Born and raised near to the University of Limerick in Ireland, Darius reaped the benefits of parents that both came from wealth and had more than simply established themselves within the (admittedly disgracefully small) immigrant community. Life was easy, he rarely dealt with wanting, and had been happy in the company of siblings and friends alike. While, just as any other family might, they had their share of downs equal to their ups, Dari typically refers back to his childhood as being more of a joy than a terror. Instead he marks the abrupt move from Limerick to London as being the most tragic experience of his youth, pulled up from the world he'd built around himself when he was thirteen as to follow his father's pursuit of new employment opportunities.

Dari's response had been in line with the classic sullen dramatics of his age, finding himself more trouble than necessary, looking for new ways to needle back at his parents in immature rebellion. All of which only festered into justified rage when he found that, as being both Irish and Asian, peers at his new school were not so likely to welcome him with any sort of open armed gesture.

No manner of mending was to be made in any near future. It took his mother years before she'd managed to needle back into his life, before he'd welcomed her as a confidant once more. Which could not have come at any better timing as it was through his mother's guilt that Dari's introduction to the world of television and film had been made. She'd come across it by chance, or by friend - even Dari could never recall the exact details of how, and hurdled her son into the car, pulling him away from classes as to send him off to an audition. It'd always been a quieted agreement that Dari's fascination with the art might undo or better him. His parents, of course, hoped it would be a phase he'd only grow out of, but kindly humored him through each local production he'd buried himself into.

In 2007, after having landed the the role of Anwar in Skins, Dari had brightened immeasurably. His focus had turned in full from continued, festering hatred for the move he did not want, and instead spent all energy on the possibilities now blossoming around him. Grateful, gracious, he'd made name for himself as being charming and something of an experience to work with. Roles following thereafter then show casing both his natural comedic timing and the depths to which he could bury himself into a role. While Hollywood and flashing lights never turned his way, Dari did not mind that great fame was not in his cards, instead reveling in the smaller projects, the enjoyment of what he could do with everything given him.

Following his departure from Misfits, which had earned him his greatest recognition, the pathway into movies seemed to have been made easier. Somewhere in flailing about in fictional immortality he had distanced himself from the cliche of islamic sidekick. which, truly, lessened the weight of his constant determination to avoid terrorist or fundamentalist roles pushed his way. something his parents both have tried to dissuade him over, insisting that if he is to make any money in a profession as fickle as acting he ought not be so picky — thus why he'd long since stopped discussing these matters with them. they thought in terms of dollars whereas he counted the merits of his own personal integrity and pride.

nevertheless, darius welcomes the struggle of establishing himself on his own terms and is just as willing to accept poverty should it come to that. allowing himself the freedom of weaving in and out of lesser known projects or guest appearances.

facts » has been reported to be both difficult and a treasure to work with, depending entirely on the person. dari has issues with hiding his emotions and, with that, his opinions of people, thus leading to some rumors in regards to fights he may or may not have had with costars based on varying degrees of clashes.

» has been criticized for his immense amount of bodywork done as no one believes he can be taking his craft seriously if he's willing to risk losing potential roles for the sake of tattoos.

» initially lied about both where he was born and where his family moved to in the hopes to save them the scrutiny of any public attention, but was later called out on his lies after school pictures from his youth had surfaced. dari made no apology but instead laughed it off and joked about trying to live a life on the run.

» Dari has turned down more than his fair share of roles in films weaving their stories off of the affairs and relations with islamic communities, sometimes for better and sometimes for worst. It's an issue he has hardly been quiet about, earning both praise in criticism on his part. though dari has happily used these opportunities, particularly monopolizing on the pauses in interviews, as the building blocks to platform his grievances with international biases of both asians and muslims.

» his unapologetic nature has earned him twitter wars that, regrettably, only showcased his inability to type whilst angry alongside his grotesque misuse of emojis. written rants are not his strong point.
